Petra Madalena
Petra Madalena is a furniture and objects studio based in Lithuania, founded by Laura in 2021. The studio designs and crafts sculptural pieces for collectors and design-led interiors worldwide.
About the studio
I did not formally study furniture design. The work developed naturally over time, through a continuous interest in form, proportion, and material. What began intuitively evolved into a defined direction: geometric, structured pieces with a strong focus on surface and texture.
Each piece is designed by me and produced in close collaboration with skilled Lithuanian craftsmen — drawing on Baltic woodworking traditions. The focus is on precision, material quality, and execution, ensuring every object meets a consistent standard.
The design language
The work is built on clean, architectural forms, often combined with subtle contrasts in material or finish. The intention is not to create dominant objects, but pieces that hold presence through proportion, balance, and detail.
Who we make for
Petra Madalena clients tend to share a similar sensitivity — designers, collectors, and design-conscious homeowners across Europe, the United States, and the United Kingdom. They value quality over quantity and prefer well-made, lasting pieces over mass-produced alternatives. There is an appreciation for materials, for how things age, and for objects that carry a certain feeling beyond function.
Materials
Most pieces are produced using wood and wood veneer. Veneer is selected specifically for its natural variation; even within the same type of wood, no two patterns are identical. This ensures each piece remains unique.
In addition to wood, natural stone and stainless steel are used:
Wood and veneer — warmth and depth, geometric forms that remain visually calm but detailed upon closer inspection
Natural stone (such as travertine) — softer, more grounded presence, with natural irregularities that make each piece distinct
Stainless steel — cooler, more precise, and reflective, adding a sharper, more architectural quality
How we work
Pieces are made to order, with customisation available across dimensions, materials, and finishes. Lead times typically range from 9 to 12 weeks. Each piece is delivered worldwide with white-glove handling for international shipments.
All pieces are designed to be versatile and can be placed in different environments — living spaces, bedrooms, and design-led commercial interiors.
Petra Madalena focuses on creating objects that are materially honest, well-executed, and designed to last — not driven by trends, but by proportion, material, and intention.
